This webpage has been created in connection with the GDPR to advise what GDPR means for Edinburgh Folk Club

Safeguarding data

Edinburgh Folk Club takes very seriously a duty of care of your personal information.

Edinburgh Folk Club undertakes not to pass on to third parties your information which we have recorded electronically.

Stoneyport Associates, more by historical accident than anything else, administrates the electronic record on behalf of Edinburgh FC.

Stoneyport Associates also agrees with and adheres to the provisions of the GDPR in its own business practices.
 
Edinburgh Folk Club's responsibilities

The information we record electronically comprises …

A) for members only - your membership 'class' (ie. single,family etc), salutation/title, name, email address and snail-mail address.

B) for all others - your name (if provided) and email address.

We store and use your data to be able to…

A) communicate information quickly and easily about what the folk club is doing and planning. 

This might be the club's regular newsletter, information about non-folk club activities which it is felt are nonetheless of interest and relevant to what Edinburgh Folk Club is 'about'.

This data is kept securely in a password protected spreadsheet kept in an inaccessible folder on  an external password protected hard-drive and is backed up in a DropBox folder. Of course, you can unsubscribe at any time and would be immediately removed from the mailing list.

Your rights
You have two new rights under GDPR.

A) The right to ask Edinburgh Folk Club what data it holds about you.

We will aim to give a quick and clear response explaining what data we hold and why we are holding it.

B) The right to have your data deleted. Again, we will aim to do that quickly.
